Carson McHone (Full Band Show) + Blackaby (support)
Carson McHone returns to the UK and Europe for the first time since releasing her new LP, the critically acclaimed Pentimento, via MERGE records. We're delighted to have her visiting the Sound Lounge as part of the tour.
Pentimento finds McHone on the frontier of her musical imagination, channeling motifs as diverse as guitar rock, pastoral folk, poetry, field recordings, visual art, memory, family and landscape into her most profound effort to date.
Written in the Texas desert and recorded on the Canadian coast, the album is a layered compilation examining life’s shifting circumstances and the disquiet of the world at large.
Described as “Multi-layered, career defining,” Pentimento was nominated Album of the Month by Uncut magazine.
Carson McHone is a songwriter and artist originally from Austin, Texas, now residing in Southern Ontario. Her first internationally released album, Carousel (2018), via Loose Music, produced by Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Patty Griffin), was a reimagining of songs from her formative years coming of age playing in dive bars.
That fine record established McHone as a shrewd artist who raises unconventional questions with language equally at home in a poem or a short story. The follow up, Still Life, recorded with Canadian musician and producer (and McHone’s partner) Daniel Romano, was released on Merge Records / Loose Music in February 2022.
McHone has since recorded and toured five albums as a member of Daniel Romano’s Outfit - Cobra Poems (2022), La Luna (2023), Too Hot To Sleep (2024), Live in Oslo (2025), and Preservers of the Pearl (2026), as well as two 7” singles, Even If it’s Obscure (2025) and Servo (2025), all released on You've Changed Records, as well as two more solo EPs, Camera Varda Variations (2022), and Odes (2023), both recorded with her bandmates from the Outfit, at their studio, Camera Varda.
Between extensive North American tours as a member of the Canadian rock ‘n’ roll group, Daniel Romano’s Outfit, McHone will make a trip across the pond late this summer 2026 for a string of headline UK/Euro dates in August/September, with a stop at End of the Road Festival before heading to The Sound Lounge for this special show.
Collaboration at the forefront of McHone’s practice these days, she’s teaming up with past tour pal, Max Kinghorn-Mills, to build a band for this tour featuring members of his own Hollow Hand band.

Carson's opening guest will be Blackaby, the surname and musical moniker of London-based singer-songwriter William Blackaby.
His songs trace the non-linear, confusing journey of childhood and personal growth within the framework of indie and folk. His is music about slowly, steadily coming to terms with yourself, where you've been, and where you might tentatively be heading.
His latest single, 'Hide It Underneath' was released in May 2026 and is available on all streaming services.
